Smokin' tubes
If you prefer your tone with some overdrive, Spin has you covered. 3 separate simulations of the classic 40 watt amplifier contained in a 122/147 rotary speaker gives you anything from a little warmth, to something crunchier, and all the way to the well known "frying eggs" sound. Why 3 versions? Because different tube sets result in slightly different characteristics. We've arranged them in order of increasing "edge". We've also included a High Gain setting that simulates a well-known British guitar amplifier prized for it's ton of gain and distortion, more suited to Steppenwolf and Jon Lord types of sounds. Yeah, baby.
Round and round it goes
Spin comes with a glorious simulation of the classic 122 & 147 rotary speakers, but we've taken that a step further with a custom "high power" version that simulates a hot-rodded rotary cabinet that was previously only available to top touring pros. While very similar to the classic, it has a sound all it's own.
For something a little different, check out the RA200 cabinet. Based on a rare cabinet, it's a unique take on a rotary speaker with 3 spinning treble speakers and 2-15" woofers.
Spin also comes with a simulation of a British guitar amp cabinet with 4 - 12" speakers.
You can also remove the diffusers from the top horn for a brighter, more pulsing kind of sound. And we didn't forget to give you the option to stop the rotors in front, or give you the Memphis sound by disconnecting the bottom rotor motor.
Mic it up
Every engineer has his own special way of micing a rotary and Spin has every option covered. Close mic it for an intense and pulsing sound, or further away for something much smoother. Spread them out for a dreamy stereo spread or close together for a mono output. Place the mics in the front of the cabinet for a smooth tone, or the back of the cabinet for a little more presence. Spin also lets you choose between dynamic and condenser mics separately for the horn and bass rotors.
